Description

, also known as the Cobas Tree or Namibian Grape, is a striking, slow-growing succulent native to arid regions of Namibia and Angola. Its care requirements reflect its adaptation to hot, dry environments.

Needs bright, direct sunlight for at least 8 hours a day.

Thrives in hot, dry conditions; ideal for sunny patios, rock gardens, or as a potted specimen in well-lit indoor spaces.

Prefers warm temperatures (ideally above 30°C during the growing season).

Low humidity is ideal, mimicking its native desert habitat.

Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings.

During the summer growing season, it appreciates more water, but to prevent rot, reduce or stop watering in winter when the plant is dormant.

Requires sandy or loamy soil with excellent drainage.

Use a cactus or succulent mix; amend with extra perlite, pumice, or coarse sand to increase drainage if needed.

Avoid heavy, moisture-retentive soils.

Fertilize sparingly during the active growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced, diluted fertilizer (e.g., 2-4-4) once a month.

Organic fertilizers like seaweed extract are preferred to avoid burning the roots.

Do not fertilize during dormancy.

Goes dormant in winter, losing its leaves.

Keep dry during this period; resume watering only when new growth appears in spring.

Repot every 2–3 years or when the plant outgrows its container.
