Description
Euphorbia atroviridis
Provide Euphorbia atroviridis with bright, direct sunlight. It thrives in full sun, which means at least six to eight hours of direct sunlight per day.
If grown indoors, place it near the brightest window available.
Water moderately during the growing season (spring to late summer), allowing the soil to completely dry out between waterings.
In autumn, reduce watering to once every two months.
In winter, suspend watering almost entirely, only watering sporadically to prevent shriveling. If the plant loses its leaves, stop watering until new growth appears.
Use a well-draining, sandy or cactus/succulent potting mix to prevent root rot.
Prefers warm temperatures and tolerates some heat; avoid exposure to frost. It is hardy down to about −6.7°C.
Fertilize lightly during the growing season with a diluted, balanced fertilizer or cactus fertilizer. Avoid fertilizing in winter.
Euphorbia atroviridis is dormant in winter. During this period, growth slows, and watering should be minimized.
Repot every few years in spring, or when the plant outgrows its pot. Use fresh cactus/succulent soil mix and a slightly larger pot with drainage.
Generally pest-resistant, but watch for mealybugs and spider mites.
